Back to work!

I went back to work today. Isabelle had a great day with her Aunty Vron, and cousins Ash and Grace! She is such a happy girl, and so content! I missed her so much, but she just looked at me after 9 hours apart and smiled and went back to chewing on her cruskit!!

She had a massive feed when she got home and we had a nice bath and play time together too!

Isabelle is standing and pulling herself up onto everything right now and we have great fun playing crawling games, peek-a-boo and her favorite song right now is Old MacDonald Had a Farm! She giggles so much when I do the chicken "Took Took Took" and also the snorting piggy! It is such a fun age, so I am a bit sad to go back to work, but it is only 2.5 days, and she will have lots of fun with mum and dad, plus with nana too occasionally.

We have success!!

Isabelle drank from a sippy cup for the first time today!! Seems like such a minor achievement but in 8mths time, no-body except me has been able to feed her and that has been a bit draining. It also means that I can go back to work confident that she will not starve without me! What a clever girl! She is eating solids so well now too! We love our standing, crawling, sippy cup drinking monkey!

First Beach Holiday!

After the excitement and rush of Christmas, Al had time off so we went away to see Isabelle's Nana and Pa, and then to Cape Paterson for a few days. What a water baby!! She has always loved water, her bath being her favorite time of day I think, but being at the beach was a new experience! Isabelle sat in her own little rockpool for ages, playing with the sand between her toes and trying to grab hold of it - her little face so confused as she tried to pick up handfuls of it - you could see her thinking "Where did it all go?"

It was around the time of this holiday that she started cuddles too - resting her head on our chests, the carpet or toys! Sooo adorable!

First Christmas!

Isabelle was 7 months old for her first Christmas and she had a great time with all that paper! Heehee! I also have never seen a more spoiled baby - so many gorgeous clothes, toys and books! Her favorite pressie is a swing from Nana and Pa, and also her concrete truck from mummy and daddy! We had Christmas at home and even had some visitors from Canada! Jule, Jo and Larissa shared the day with both Al's and my family! Overall we had a lovely day that I know I will remember always!

The first 6 months!

Isabelle arrived screaming into the world on the 19th May 2007 at 9:35am via c-section! It definately wasn't the birth I had planned but we were so happy to finally meet our little girl!
From the day she was born she showed her alert, bright eyed personality - lifting her head and watching people in the room.
We came home and she settled in quickly into a great routine, of feeding and sleeping. I had a few issues with breastfeeding, it was literally one of the most difficult things I've had to do in my life- but we perservered through the toe-curling pain and settled in well with this huge adjustment too.
As she has grown she has become more and more alert and really is the happiest and most contented baby. People would visit and would comment on how happy she is! She wakes from naps happily and only cries when she is hungry or tired which are both easily fixed! Her giggles and joy found in simple things has brought joy to our lives too - just watching her play can be take up a whole day!
In her first 6 months of life, Isabelle visited Bright which was her first holiday and she had her Uncle Ben come and visit from Canada!
At around 6 mths old Isabelle sat up unaided, had her first tooth come through and she started commando crawling all over the house!

Welcome to Isabelle's blog!!

I thought it might be a good idea to start a blog for Isabelle - a little late I know but hopefully it won't be too boring!! I hope you enjoy reading it and keeping up to date with what our gorgeous girl has been up to!
